Child Support
I separated in the 90's from my husband. I submitted divorce papers from Puerto Rico. He had to pay $500 a month but it did not say until when and it did not have a provision about college. My final child is preparing for college this summer. My Ex-husband says he will pay $250 when ever he can but not to expect anything. He went bankrupt recently, gets a retirement check from the Army, and worked or works for Lockheed in Georgia. What can I do. I live in Houston Texas

You say you submitted divorce papers, but do not say if you have a final order. If so, it is from Puerto Rico or Texas? A Texas decree will normally provide for support until the last child reaches 18 or graduates from high school, whichever happens last. Additionally, it is standard that the support will gradually decrease as each child reaches that milestone.
If you have an enforceable decree that states otherwise, then you will need to retain an attorney to assist you. An attorney will need to review the decree to determine if it is enforceable in a Texas court.
