Child Support in Texas
How can a Judge's order for me to pay child support direct to my ex-wife be overruled by The Attorney General's Child Support Enforcement office? I had no idea a judge has to answer to the Attorney General.....

The AG's office is supposed to enforce the orders entered by the judge. If you believe there is a conflict, there can be several explanations for how it may have come about and you will not receive a definitive answer to your question.
I suggest you hire a lawyer to sort out how the conflict has come about and what can be done to resolve it.

If you have an extra small fortune you might be able to fight it. The new rules say that all child support payments have to go through the Child Support Disbursement Unit in San Antonio. Odds are that since you have been paying your ex directly (a really bad idea, by the way) some computer program tagged your case for non-payment of support and it got dumped into the AG enforcement system or your ex applied for some state or federal benefit and it became the AG's baby. Once it's in the system it's almost impossible to get it back out.
