Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
child support waived
Is it possible to waive the right to child support if both parties are in agreement? I will be in a better position financially than my ex and will be the primary caregiver for my daughter, so I don't need the child support from him. I still want us to have joint custody though.

Yes. It is possible, but there are judges that will refuse to do it, and will at least order minimal monthly support. In either case to get minimal support ($50) or no support, I would have my client either attach a supporting affidavit, or offer testimony to support the request. TCL
