Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child support
My wife is an adulteress and makes twice as much money as I do. She is dragging her feet on paying her lawyer to get the divorce filed. I want to know if I can withhold paying ''child support'' until she actually files without any legal ramifications?

If you have not been ordered by a judge to pay child support, then you cannot be held in contempt for not paying child support.
Aso, adultery is usually only used in property division. Which means you need an attorney to ask for more than 50% of the community property. Don't expect a 0%-100% split. It will more like 45%-55% split.

In addition to Ms. Brochstein's response, I would add that if you want to move this process along, you should hire a lawyer to file for the divorce.
