Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
child support/retirement
After a lengthy divorce delayed by my ex he told our children he is moving out of the USA with his new wife and her child. That would mean he would be quiting his job and recieving his teacher retirement. I am assigned by the divorce decree to half of the retirement which is greatly needed. I have gotten my first full child support check after a year and a half of partial or none. Now I have to worry about money again and the retirement pay. I have 4 children living at home with me. Do I need a lawyer to check up on this? or is it already set up and handled by the office of the Attorney General's.

Re: child support/retirement
It's hard to be sure what you are asking, but if you are asking about his retirement benefits, there should have been a QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order) done at the time of the divorce if you were awarded a portion of his retirement. Yes, you need to have a good family law attorney look into this.
