child tax credit

I am the custodial parent for my son. do I recieve the tax credit or the other parent who pays child support

This is an IRS question, not really a family law question, unless it was specifically agreed to in your Order or Decree, but usually it goes to the parent that receives the child support.

Th IRS will assume that the parent with whom the child lives on a day to day basis should receive the tax exemption.
