Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
child visitation
My grandson is 11 yrs. old he doesn't like going to visit his dad on his weekend. His parents were never married ,just together. Now that he is 11 does he not have any say if he wants to go to his fathers or not? Isn't it child abuse if you force a child to visit someone he doesn't want to see? His dad just got out of prison and his grandparents didn't bother to see my grandson the 3 years their son was in prison. Will my daughter get in trouble if she doesn't send my grandson to his dads?

Re: child visitation
If the orders in place now, provide for weekend (standard) visitation, then your daughter has to comply with the order, or the ex can file for contempt.
Not wanting to go see dad makes sense in this case, however, does not justify violating the order. If there is some articulable, legitimate reason for not going (besides "I don't want to") it is worth consulting with an attorney to consider restricting visitation through a modification. Good luck.
