Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a child with a woman I am not married to. We were together at the time and agreed that child support payments were not necessary because I was supporting them both. Recently we seperated and she still wants to avoid the courts and do the child support payments privately as personal business. What are my risks and what records should I keep to show that I have been supporting my child through this time period? What is the best route to take with this?

Send her money, and keep records of every dollar you pay. Get a receipt from her if you can; make the payment by check, and keep the canceled check. Never give her cash without getting a receipt from her.
