Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Children and Divorce Decree
when i signed my divorce decree 5 years ago, i did not ask any questions for the attorney i had was a good friend from years past. my attorney, my ex, and his attorney, all met together without me.
I thought it was a simple plain vanilla divorce. Since that day, my friend, will not return any phone calls or request for paperwork. It has been a horrible mess that has put our 8 year old daughter in the position that my ex can take her to Vietnam or out of the country anytime he wants. I did not know this was in there until I pulled it out. Now, my ex has the money backing power to hire OJ's dream team, which he has, and I cannot afford legitimate counsel.
What about the child in this unfortunate situation. Is there anything I can do to protect her. I am so concerned about his strong desire to take her out of the country and demanding signature for passport asap.

I don't know what you mean by legitimate counsel, and you may not be able to afford a 'dream team', but you can probably afford competent, experienced counsel. Many established, excellent lawyers will work with you on the retainer and a payment plan. If you are worried about him leaving the country and not returning, you need a lawyer to represent you.
