Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My child's father and I are in agreement that it would be best for him to sign over his parental rights. Our daughter is 4 months old and his name is on the birth certificate. How should we go about this process?

Not many judges will let a father (or mother) sign over his rights unless there is a step-parent ready to step in and adopt. Subject to that, what you would do is have the father sign a Voluntary Relinquishment of Parental Rights, take it to the court, and ask the judge to sign it.
