Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My child's father recently adopted his girlfriend's son. Now she's leaving him for another man. Will he be liable to pay her child support as well all though that is not his biological child? If so, will that affect my child's child support?

Yes to both. If he adopted the child, he is that child's parent and is responsible for supporting it. Child support is reduced for each child outside of the awarding court's jurisdiction that the the parent must support.

I agree with Keith. If he legally adopted the kid then he is the legal father. He will pay child support and have visitation rights. It is as if he was the bio. dad.

Happy New Year!
