Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

who gets childs SSI during visitation

My two kids will be spending their first summer with me when I get home from Iraq. My son gets SSI for his autisim. Should I recieve the SSI during his 6 weeks with me.

The SSI is supposed to cover expenses that are related directly to him. Daycare, medical, and any special needs he might have. My ex refuses saying she needs that money to pay the rent and bills. She already gets close to 800 from me in child support. I just want to know if I should fight her for for this because it feels like she's stealing money that should go to my sons needs directly....not to cover the bills and stuff that the child support is designed to cover.

No. Since she has primary custody, she gets the money even though you will have the children for most of the summer.

If you want to sit down and discuss this matter when you get back to the states, I charge $100 for an hour consultation.
