Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have chosen to file for divorce in the state of Texas. I then proceded to send certified mail a copy of the original petition and waiver of citation to my spouse. He did not respond by filing the waiver of citation but rather entered a Respondent''s Original Answer in which it says, I am the respondent in this case. I enter a general denial and request notice of all hearings in this case. What does this mean?

When your spouse filed an answer with the court, he submitted himself to the court's jurisdiction over him. A Waiver of Citation is no longer necessary.

The General Denial language essentially requires you prove all allegations you make. The notice of all hearings language means exactly that.
