Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

in a civil suit - like a divorce, what are the rules on being served? Must I travel 150 miles for a court date, without compensation if I am served?

This wouldn't have anything to do with the rules about being SERVED. It has to do with venue.

I assume that you haven't filed an answer yet.

We need a lot more information, and I suggest that you talk to a lawyer. You may have been sued in the wrong county, and there may be a remedy for this.
