Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

College funding

Father dosen't want to pay for school. My mother and he had an oral agreement and he is aware of this, but still refuses to pay. Can I take him to court?

Re: College funding

In Texas, a parent is not obligated to pay for child support after a child graduates from high school and/or over the age of 18. There are some exceptions to this -- they can be found in the Texas Family Code. It's on the internet but I don't know the exact address. Go to any major search engine and enter Texas Family Code and you should find it.

A parent can contractually enter into an agreement. It does not sound like you have a written contract to enforce.

Good luck!
