Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Hi, my college is requiring dependent students to turn in a signed copy of my parents tax return in order to get financial aid and my parents absolutely refuse to give me any information. I am 22 and cannot be considered independent. Is there any legal action I can take to get the paperwork or maybe something I can do to become an independent?

Do you file your own tax return? And, if so, do you claim yourself? If so, take that to the fin aid department and show that you claim yourself. If not, then to become independent, become independent.
