Common Law Marriage
If a couple has lived together for 6 yrs and has 2 children together are they considered common law? And if you decide to seperate how soon can you remarry?

My sister lived with a guy for 7 years and they were never common law married.
You can live with someone for one day and technically be common law married in the State of Texas.

If you filed taxes as "married" that is one way to determine a common law marriage if you both signed the tax return.
If you were listed on the other person's health insurance as "spouse" that is another way to be common law married.
Those are just 2 examples.
