common law marrige

what does common law marrige consist of in the state of Texas?? I'm trying to find out if I'm married or not. I was told I was.

Generally speaking, common law is:

1. you both agreed to be married

2. neither of you are married to anyone else

3. you told the "public" you are married

4. you did something to establish a common law marriage (filed a common law marriage certificate in the county you live in, filed married with the IRS, added your "spouse" to your health insurance or life insurance, purchased car insurance as spouses.

There is NO time requirement -- 7 years is commonly mentioned but it is not in the State of Texas family law code.
