Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

common law rights

My boyfriend and I have lived together for (3) years (dated for 6) and he bought a house in his name, I have helped with mortgage payments, the home improvement loans and spent my own funds improving the home itself. He has meet someone else and has asked me to move out. Do I have any rights for reimbursment or any other rights at all? Thank you, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: common law rights

In Texas, if you live together, act as man and wife (using same last name, joint checking, tell people you are married, etc.)you may be able to prove you are married common law. Even so, if you can prove all of the things you did to improve his house (list bills paid, time/money spent on renovations, home improvement loans (if you both are on the loan, that is good evidence of common law marriage) you can ask a court for reimbursement from him. Call me at 713-465-1456 if you have any questions.
