Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Re: common-in-law divorce

I want to get a common-in-law divorce, but don't have any money to get a lawyer. I found out that it is recognized in the state of Texas and that if in the future I were to get someone else or marry that I would need to get a divorce from him. How can I go about getting some free legal help. It is a long situation as to why I want this divorce and will explain upon request and then maybe whoever take my case will see that a divorce is the right thing for me.

Free legal help is available through Legal Aid. What agencies offer help depends upon where you live. Contact the State Bar of Texas for a list of non-profit referrals. If you are rejected, then you will need to work with a lawyer that is willing to accept a payment plan.
