Community Property?

I remarried 3 years ago and my husband and I want to purchase a new home. I have a house that was court ordered to me, it is in my name only. If I rent my house will my husband have any rights to it if one day we divorce? What rights does he have to my house if I die? I do not have a will and I have 4 children from my first husband. I have no children from my current husband.

Why don't you have a Will? They're really fairly inexpensive and make tings much easier when you own property and have been married more than once.

Just renting the house out shouldn't give your new husband any ownership rights, but it might be money well spent to sit down and talk with good family law attorney who can review your situation and explain things to you in detail.
