In a community property state, is marital debt also split 50/50 between divorcing spouses?

No. And since you implied that assets are split 50/50, I will tell you that is incorrect, also. The judge can divide assets and debt in any proportion that is "just and right" and it is frequently not 50/50. Also, there is no such thing as "community debt." The question is: which assets of the five estates involved are liable for the debt?
