Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Is Computer spying legal and admissable in court as evidence?
I am in the midst of a divorce and custody battle. I think my soon to be x has installed spyware on our home computer. Is this legal and if so, is the information obtained admissable in court as evidence? I have done nothing illegal, but have had an affair or two AFTER we were separated, including intimate conversations, emails and plans of meeting, etc. I don't understand how this could be legal. It seems to me that it would go against Invasion of Privacy or the same as phone tapping. Please advise. Thank you.

If you are in a divorce, I must presume you have an attorney. This is the type of question that you should discuss with your attorney. Obviously, it can be very important to you and have a great bearing on the outcome.
