Conditional Gift
Would me asking for the engagement ring back qualify for a conditional gift?

There are always exceptions, however, generally speaking, the engagement ring is in anticipation of marriage and conditional. Generally, if YOU breached the promise and you are at fault, however, she is keeping the ring.
