Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Conflict of interest
Is it a legal conflict of interest for my attorney to be representing me, and my attorney's wife, who is also a lawyer, to be representing my ex-husband and his new wife??
This is a great concern, considering, that they do not share a office, but his wife and her clients( my ex-husband) are allowed in my attorneys office!

Re: Conflict of interest
Whether or not a conflict of interest exists would likely be a fact issue. That said, I would offer a huge 'however'. Often lawyers mention the 'smell' test in questionable ethics situations. This arrangement does not seem to pass the smell test. I wonder why you have not discussed the matter with your own attorney; and if your own attorney was unconcerned about your concerns, why you did not get a new attorney. TCL

Call the State Bar of Texas located in Austin and describe the details to them.
They also have a website.
Good luck!
