Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Conservatorship of Sister all parties are willing

My wifes sister currently lives with her Mother and step father, her real father who provides child support lives in Iowa. The sister wants to move in with me and my wife. Everyone involved is in agreement with this move. We live in Frisco, TX in Collin County, my question is I've heard that we need to get conservatorship in order for us to be able to admit her to the hospital in case of emergencies, go to school, etc. Is this the case or is there something else we can do. She is planning on moving in, in a few weeks when she comes down for christmas (12/23/01). Any ideas, comments suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe that eventually you will need to adress this issue with a SAPSR order providing for you to have conservatorship. If not, you may have difficulity enrolling the child in school and if there are any medical emergencies requiring your consent. Unless there are two people in Frisco Texas with this same situtation, I believe I spoke with you allready about this on the phone. Call me if you like to discuss further.
