Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Can it be considered stolen?
I was living with this woman for 3 mos, (I still maintained my separate residence), and one day returned from work to find the door locked and my 2nd veihcle blocked against a fence by another vehicle. I was promptly handed a couple of bags with personal items and told that I could recover my other vehicle when a persoanl loan was paid. I was cool with that. When I paid off the loan, I was told that I would be called to pick up my vehicle. I was never called. But, by my own investigation, I found my vehicle locked inside a gate at her other property, and advised by the local P.D. that it was to her descetion as to when I could recover my vehicle. I was recently checking at her other property to check on my vehicle and it was gone. I drove by her house and it was not ther either. So, I went to my house to see if in the goodness of her heart, she brought it to my house. She didn't. I went with the local P.D. to inquire about ny vehicle at her residence, and I overheard her tell the officers that I had already picked up my vehicle. This was a lie.
My question is: Since I do not know the whereabouts of my vehicle, can I report it stolen? Texas

Re: Can it be considered stolen?
Actually, your acquiescence to her conduct may convince the police that it is a civil matter. You can file a report; and if they will not accept it, then sue her.
