Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Contempt of Court
I have been advised that my ex husband is in contempt of court because he has not abided by the judges orders. What is my next step? Do I need a lawyer? Can I avoid getting a lawyer? What papers can I file for his contempt? What will the results be? Thank you for your time.

Re: Contempt of Court
I guess by your question that your X is "in contempt" but the judge has not found him to be "in contempt". Thus you would have to file a motion for enforcement and for contempt? If you know how to do these things, then you don't need a lawyer.

You must be specific in a contempt case.
I highly recommend hiring an attorney.
