Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Controlling Ex

Is there any legal recourse that my husband and I can exercise to stop his ex from interfering in our time with his kids? my husband and I have four children between us. My husband has two children from his ex wife ages 11 & 8. I have a daughter from a previous marriage - she is fifteen. Together my husband and I have a three year old. There are times when we have to leave our 15 year old to care for our 11 & 8 year old (which are his kids). My husbands ex does not approve and creates problems for us. Recently, my husband and I attended a dinner party of one of our neighbors (next street over). My eldest daughter and our neighbors daughter which is also fifteen years of age were caring for all the children (at our house). The ages of the other children that the two fifteen year olds were watching were: 11, 4 & 3). My husband and I let our 11 & 8 year old attend the rodeo with their mother that afternoon - which was our weekend. My husbands eleven year old was aware we would be the next street over and her sister would be at the house waiting for them. When the ex dropped the kids off - she proceeded to threaten my daughter by saying she was going to call Child Protective Services as well as the police.

Re: Controlling Ex

Generally speaking, Texas has no law as to the age of a babysitter. Maturity and responsibility is the issue -- I know people in their 40's I would not let babysit!

She is free to call CPS and the police at any time. You cannot stop her.

If you want more info, you can call my office.
