From the district clerk's office in the county where it was filed.
If it was Harris County - based on your zip code - go to either the Harris County Civil Court house on the second floor or the Family Court House at 1115 Congress in the basement.
It costs $1 per page. You must pay by cash or credit card. No personal check.
You will need your cause number. Or you need the full legal name of the people involved and they charge a small fee to look it up. You will need to kow the approximate date the document was filed in order to have the clerk find it in the computer.
Once it is scanned into the county computer it only takes a few minutes for the clerk to print it out. It actually takes longer to drive downtown and park. So plan on being downtown apoproximately 2 hours.
Plan on paying 2 hours at a meter so you don't get a ticket.
