Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am trying to a get a copy of the ruling of a custody/vistitaion rights that was ruled back in September of 2010. I called the District Clerk and she stated this has not been filed by my ex's lawyer and gave me the number to her office. I called and she said she could not give any information but would contact my lawyer. My lawyer stated that she would not file until my ex pays her bill. I am confused as to what is going on and why I cannot prove my visitian rights and so forth as now my ex does not want me to see my son. Is there a way to get a copy so I know my exact rights vs. a letter stating i have the standard texas visitation rights with parents that reside 100 miles more apart?

You have to have a written order (signed by a judge). A notation that a judge makes (in the court 's file, for instance) isn't enough.

Your lawyer is a jerk.

You should either pay him to draft the order, or fire him and hire another lawyer to do it.
