Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

correct child's last name

I am willing to turn my self in for fraud, for telling my boyfriend (at the time) that he was the father of my baby, and he signed the birth certificate recalled for correction as the father. I lied, he is not the father, and my 31 y/o son(born 9/9/75). Our son has disowned me and his father and does not deserve to have his fathers last name. I want my son to be forced to go back to the original name on the certificate or have to pay to legally keep his present last name that his father gave him. I have explained to my husband the situation and he understands, he doesn't like it, but he understands. We've been married 29 years now and together 31. I'm not being vindictive, my son has been objectionable thoughtless, and selfish since birth, and he needs to learn that we were good parents and not the monsters he's made us out to be. I've done everything I can to bridge the riff between us. I've apologized for everything I did or didn't do. I've asked forgiveness for anything that I didn't even know I'd done wrong. He still will not relent, or even have the decency to tell us why he's thrown us out of his life!

Thank you for your time in this bizarre matter. Feel free to call if I can shed anymore light on this.

Re: correct child's last name

Honestly I have never encountered a situation such as you describe, but do not see how you can force an adult to change his name. Particularly when you are the person that gave him the name.
