Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

co-signing nightmare

me and my daughter's father are on an auto loan together, he is in jail and his mother has possesion of the vehicle and she also makes the payments. i'm currently trying to purchase a home, but need proof that the payment is being made from her account. me and her are far from best friends, and i would perfer to not have to ask her cuz there is a 99% chance she will say no. my question is is there any way i can get the documents i need without her help? if not, is there anyway she can be forced to give me the information?

Re: co-signing nightmare

Since you are a co-signor on the car, you can contact the company and talk to them. Perhaps they can show that payments are being made and perhaps, also, who is making them.

Of course, if your name is on the car, you can go pick it up. I assume that her name is NOT on the note. But, then, you would have to sell the vehicle.

You cannot force her to do anything unless you want to sue her. And, that, takes time and money.

I advise you to consult with PATRICIA BUSHMAN for more information.

Pl. tell PAT that FRAN sent you!
