How much does it normally cost to get a divorce if the couple dont have any kids or any property together? Just a simple divorce!

If you can get by with paying only $750, you're doing well.
That's a lot of saying I just want a car to drive to work. Some people buy a used car for $250 and some people spend over $50,000 for a luxury vehicle.
There are county filing fees that usually run under $300. That is set by each county.
I sell Do it Yourself kits that start at $200. They were specifically designed for Harris County residents but can work anywhere in Texas.
Some people come and pay me $2 a minute to sit and just talk to them about their options. Some people have spent 3 hours just talking about their options!
As you can see, it's not an easy answer.
I don't suggest office supply kits or internet kits. They are NOT designed for Texas and they don't have Texas REQUIRED form -- but they don't tell you that since the kit is NOT designed by a TEXAS lawyer! (FYI: you get what you pay for!)
I agree with Mr. Dunn. For an uncontested divorce with no children, our office charges $1,000, which includes payment of the filing fees of between $250 and $300. So, in effect, you pay $750 for the attorney's time to create and file the divorce docs themselves, beginning to end. Also included in that price is the attorney's attendance at a prove-up hearing, which is mandatory for the court to grant the divorce.
We offer our clients the option of paying one-half up front, and one-half at the end (60 days later - which is the waiting period here in Texas). Two payments of $500 each is often more manageable. Glad you and your husband were able to work things out between you two.
