Re: cost of divorce

I assume that you are mainly concerned about attorney's fees. There is no good answer to your question. The amount of fees attorneys will charge varies widely due to a myriad of reasons. Attorney fees, like any other service, are governed by market forces such as the amount of potential business available in a geographic region and the fees others in the same profession are charging. Other factors include the attorney's experience and the level of service a particular attorney can offer. Add to all of these reasons and others, the circumstances of your particular case. Remember that the amount of the fee may have no connection to the quality of service. The best advice I can give you is to shop around. Ask friends and family about their experiences with attorneys. Call the state bar or your local bar association for a list of attorneys who may be able to help you. There are also legal aid agencies with offices across the state that will give you some good information. Good luck.
