It is impossible to estimate. Generallly speaking in a contested matter, attorneys require a retainer, and charge for their time and effort on an hourly basis. Some will arrange payment plans. The end cost is highly dependent upon the parties' willingness to reach a settlement. Full-blown war can easily cost in the tens of thousands of dollars. Emotions run high in these situations, and often clouds a person's judgment - the ability to calmly negotiate is best for your daughter, since you have many many more years to co-parent.

I agree with Theresa.

I've seen people spend under $1,000 to some people spend over $100,000.

I encourage people to mediate not litigate!

Look on this website & on www.avvo.com for an attorney to represent you. Most attorneys offer a free consultation & payment plans.

Good luck!
