Re: Cost of an uncontested divorce

I offer a Do It Yourself Divorce kit for under $100 for people with no minor children, no property, no debt, no issues. It has been successful for approx. 5 years in the Harris county courts. The filing fee in Harris County is $148 with no minor children. It is more if there are minor children.

I do not recommend wasting your money on the forms sold at office supply stores. If you read the fine print, it clearly states that no state forms are included in the package.

If you qualify, there is free legal assistance at Lone Star Legal Aide and other non-profit places. Call the State Bar of Texas for information. They are located in Austin, TX.

They also have a website.

A divorce with minor children takes anywhere from a minimum of 6 hours to prepare all the required documents and forms the Judges require.

Good luck!
