Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How do I counter a divorce that has been contested if I did the paperwork myself? I live in Dallas Tx and cannot afford a good lawyer. My husband abandoned me and our 6 year old daughter almost 6 months ago?

Start with this: Contact the attorney general's office and tell them that you need child support. They will file a child support suit for you and probably you will be named the primary parent of your child. That's the big fight in a divorce case and you can get the attorney general child support division to do it for you for free. Then, once that is done, proceed with your divorce.
