Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Court Jurisdiction
I have legal custody of my children which was decided in a Harris County court when they lived here in MD. Now, my children live back in TX (Hidalgo county)...who has jurisdiction? My ex-wife had the case transferred to Harris county even when they didn't reside there anymore? Can I do the same thing and have the case transferred to MD? What does Texas Family Code say in this matter?

Re: Court Jurisdiction
Generally, the county of residence of the children is the proper jurisdiction; but you need to file a Motion to Transfer if that is what you want to do.
