Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Court ordered child support not payed; what are visitation rights?

I am the custodial parent of an eleven year old boy. The Court ordered child support (and insurance) on 8-4-94. To this date, I have received about $700.00. The father wants to visit this August; what are my rights? Do I have to let him visit? (we have a standard out of state visitation agreement) I submitted all of the necessary paperwork to the Attorney General's Office for back child support (about $20,000.00). Have not heard back from them. I have tried to get in touch with my former attorney; she has sice moved from the Austin area. I want to have his wages garnished....not sure how to proceed from here.

There is a statute that says failure to pay child support does not allow you to stop visitation. As for the back child support, you have many options. You may wish to purchase a copy of my book, How To Collect Child Support In Texas, available exclusively through amazon.com.
