Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Court room practices
I'm in the middle of a divorce and represent myself. My future ex and myself had a 9:00 setting for temporary order prove up. Prior to 9:00 I had filed a 'motion for clarification of proposed agreen temporary orders' and a 'requested ruling for temporary orders from court'. A little before 9:00 I went into the court room and told the balif who I was and what I was here for. He told me to wait outside the court room and I would be called. Well I never was. At 10:00 I asked the balif again when my case was to be heard. I was told because I hadn't been present the judge signed the temporary orders. I was no more than 10 feet from the court room door all morning. I have 2 police officers that are will to sign affidavits stating I was there at 9:00. I never saw my future ex or her attorney. They came in through the back of the court room and exited throught the back also. My question is this. Do I have any recourse?
