Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My cousin is 5 months pregnant. this is like her 12th child but all the other kids were taken away by CPS. i thought she couldnt keep anymore of her babies but she said she could, and that she might keep this one but she is not sure. if she doesnt keep it she wants me and my husband to adopt the baby. where do i get started. i am lost and dont know what to do or how much it would cost to legally adopt the baby. please help.

I would hire an attorney in your county. I suspect that CPS will pick up this baby too if they are alerted by the hospital.
I agree with Fran - and if you retain an attorney now, to prepare the way, including notifying CPS, you could have a smoother road in adopting this baby. Remember, the father will also have to be involved in the process.
