Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

credit on child support

I have a credit on my child support and was told that I could possibly take it to small claims court. The only problem is I live in Texas and the case is in Illinois. How would I go about taking care of this and would it be worth trying to get the money back?

Re: credit on child support

If this were a Texas case, you would file a motion to refund the overage. Since it is an Illinois case, the Illinois court that issued the child support order has jurisdiction. You could repost your question to IL lawyers asking about the procedure in that state.
