Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am the custodial parent. My ex and I have joint managing conservatorship. Do I forfeit my right to decide where the child lives if I let her live with him. If nit is there a certain amount of time involved before it is considered abandonment?

You leaving the child with the other parent does not change the court order.

Leaving a child with a parent is never "abandonment."

It could make a difference in the venue of a modification case, later on, if (a) you leave the child with him for over six months and (b) you and Dad live in different counties.
