Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I'm a custodial parent suppose to be receiving child support but the non custodial parent is awaiting sentencing in the federal penitentary. Are there any programs out there that hep the custodial parent with child support?

Child support is a debt that never goes away.

If ex dies, then his estate is liable for this debt.

There are no agencies that will give you $$ just because your ex is in prison.

The TX A G will help you try to collect the money, but if he's in prison he cannot pay it.

He will still owe the money but if he is unable to work then there is no real way to "punish" him.

Keep track of where he is and be sure to go after him after he is released from prison.

I hope this helps.

I charge $1 per minute to sit and discuss your case.
