Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My custody agreement states that I have to live in tarrant County or surrounding counties. My husband serves in the US Navy and that involves moving outside of those counties. I have full custody with supervised visitation. How do I go about changing my custody agreement in order to be able to move?

Technically, your decree doesn't say that you have to live in Tarrant County (or contiguous); it says that you cannot relocate the children outside Tarrant County or a contiguous County.

If you can get the other parent to agree in writing to let you move out of that described area, you would file the signed agreement with the Court, and then it's okay to move.

Otherwise, you have to go into Court and get your order modified.
