Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody

my ex boyfriend whom i lived with for 2 years pressed false charges against me when we broke up i got them dismissed when i went to court all charges were dismissed, but i had to call him to come pick up our baby she was 6 ,months old, ever since then he kept her from me would barely let me talk to her on the phone when she got older would barely talk to me about her, and when i did get to see her it had to be somewhere like chucke cheese where only someone with a stamp on that matched the childs could leave with the child, well i recently got the chance to take her back he dropped her off with me so he could get a haircut, i chose not to answer his calls and call the police when he showed up trying to get her and i want to keep her i dont want to give her back he says that the court will make me give her back she's 2 yrs old now,i have my own house, car, great job, he lives with his mom and has no vehicle in his name, and always begs me for money to take care of her and her needs, i don't want her to go back to him, he doesn't take care of her.... i took pictures of her and her condition when i got her back from him, it was not pretty, do you think they will make me give her back to him?????

Re: custody

This is a situation in which you need the intervention of a family court in the worst way. Going back and forth with these sort of "snatch and grab" means of exchange of custody is eventually going to do real damage to this child psychologically and emotionally.

Feel free to contact my office to set up a free consultation -- I can discuss with you the process to obtain a custody order from the court in order to give this child some sort of structured visitation.

Re: custody

From what you have stated, you really need a child custody order. You can attempt to do this on your own, but obtaining the assistance of an attorney is recommended with legal issues such as this and especially when involving children. If my firm can assist you with your child custody order or any other legal issues, please contact my office manager Mr. Ed Smith ([email protected]).
