Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Custody
My boyfriend has a 15 year old child, he does pays child support and he has never lived or married the mother. The child is the oldest of 6 kids totaling 3 different dads. The child lives 3 hours away w/his mother and my boyfriend gets him during the holidays, spring break and during the summer. The child has made several comments about his current situation at home stating that at times there are no groceries in the house or the lights are cut off. The child has been in some trouble, his grades have come down, he is always forced to stay at his grandparents house over the weekends and the majority of the time he's baby sitting his siblings. His mother makes little effort to spend time with the him and at times has mentioned that the child is her biggest challenge. My boyfriend has made several attempts to convince her to let the child stay with him but she will not allow it. The child is very angry at his mother and talks back to her and does not listen to her. Right now she is dating yet another man. The CS papers show her as the custodial parent. The child doesn't want to hurt his mom by leaving. They never went to court for custody but the Attorn Gen office provided her with full custody. What are my bf rights?
