Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody and child support

I have 2 children. I have full custody

of 1 and recently gave joint

conservatorship to father of the other

child. I amended the original support

order to cease all future child

supp.pmts since the father was

taking 1 child in his care. We agreed

neither party would pay each other

support. Since this was done 3 mo

ago, my other child who is 10yrs old

began rebelling and left with the

father as well. Now the father left the

state and is trying to make me pay

him child support.

I still have full custody of 1 and joint

of the other AND HE OWES ME BACK

CHILD SUPPORT OF $8000.oo . He

does not work and i feel he has

manipulated this to try to get both

kids so he can mooch off welfare and

make me pay support since i always

have a steady job. He left the state

without my consent and now he's

trying to make me pay after we

agreed neither party would pay. If he

applies for welfare in a different state

the state requires him to apply for

child support so that the government

isnt supporting him how is this

possible? He cant hold a job and

enjoys a free ride. Can i press

charges against him for leaving the

state with my kids?

Re: custody and child support

You definately need to sit down and talk to an attorney face-to-face.

It does not sound like he kidnapped the kids.

However, it does sound like you need a a court order to avoid these sort of problems in the future.

I can't tell if you went to the TX A G or if you just agreed between yourselves.

Please talk to an attorney.
