Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody / child support

mother and child (9) live in TX (moved to TX 3 years ago). father lives in Louisiana. mother and father were never married. nothing filed with court as to custody and support. informal agreement that father pays $400 month except for the 2 months he has child in summer; father can see child once a month (and most major holidays) and they each drive half-way for drop-offs and pick-ups; they alternate years they claim child on taxes. father being difficult now. mother thinks she can get more in child support (b/c $400 is not 20% of father's net monthly); mother thinks she can make father pay insurance for child (he never has); mother thinks she can get father to pay support all 12 months as opposed to 10; mother thinks she should get tax credit every year as she is the custodial parent...is mother correct in her thinking?

Re: custody / child support

If mother's rendition is supported by the evidence, then mother is likely correct on all counts. Feel free to email me if you have questions. TCL
